The nature of landsape design is very visual. Like many things, there is a process which involves very detailed planning and preparation to acheive the visually stunning landscapes created by our client. This web design project needed to not only convey that our client goes beyond a simple design, but that she's an expert landscape designer.

How we met these needs:

1. The homepage of the website was created to give a simplified overview of our client's landscape design process.
   
   During the pre-design stage of developing this website, our client explained the process and we worked together to create a simplified explanation for web consumption. We designed the homepage with large number bullets to highlight the fact that our client had created a process built on experience, which helps to lower the level of process intimidation.
2. Because our client had a wide array of drawings and photos taken on job sites at her disposal, we were able to incorporate them into the website's design. In addition, an area for case studies was created with large photos to allow our client to showcase the details as well as before-and-after photos of each project.
3. We added a simple call to action on each page, front and center, which allows visitors entering from any source (inbound traffic from search, direct visit, referral sources) to quickly request a personalized quote. We worked with our client to simplify questions to increase potential conversions.

4. Having an optimized Flickr account can be another free source of traffic. With that in mind, our client created an account to showcase the company's landscape drawings (which are gorgeous in their own right) and we added a plugin to allow for these images to automatically show on the side column of the website as they are uploaded to flickr.
5. A special, simplified category was added to the website just for testimonials. Testimonials are added easily to the website's administration area by our client and they are shown on the website with the latest addition at the top of the "Testimonials" page. In addition, the last testimonial is showcased on the front page of the website which is a good way to convey trust to visitors.
6. The first step in enabling search engine friendliness, was using Wordpress as the website platform. By nature, Wordpress is very search engine friendly. Because it is easy to use, our client can add content easily to the website and blog regularly - which created more ways to be found in search engines. The simplified navigation and categorization of the site means search engines can easily crawl the site and index new content as well.
